SMU-X: IdeaX Innovation Toolkit - Train-the-trainer Sessions for Student Consultants

IDEAX INNOVATION TOOLKIT TRAIN-THE-TRAINER SESSION
SINGAPORE MANAGEMENT UNIVERSITY

To activate and scale-up the usage of the IdeaX Innovation Toolkit, I worked closely with the SMU-X team to design and facilitate a train-the-trainer workshop that would get students to take the lead in facilitating sessions with the toolkit.

The 2-day bootcamp covered facilitation skills and an experiential session where the student leaders got to use the toolkit.

Day 1

  • What is the role of a facilitator?

  • What are some misconceptions around facilitation?

  • Applying the Think, Feel, Do, Behave model to create a great participant experience

  • Roleplaying: learning how to manage difficult personalities

  • What makes a great facilitator?

  • Building our facilitator toolkit: activities and resources to support facilitation

  • Reflection and sharing

Day 2

  • Crafting USPs for the IdeaX Innovation Toolkit

  • Elevator pitch competition (pitching the toolkit)

  • IdeaX Hands-on Experience: applying the toolkit to a challenge

  • Reflection and sharing
